If you’re a newbie at work, you will be amazed to meet different
kinds of people you will work with.
You’ll learn how they manage to do their work to meet the
requirements. Not long, you’ll learn
their styles, and you may be tempted to imitate or join them. Good for you if they are happy dogs. I just hope they don’t belong to blind snakes. What! Happy dogs and Blind snakes? Let me
introduce them to you. You’ll meet their
workmates too.
The insidious
cockroaches. They will be good to you at
first. They will kindheartedly greet
you in front of your boss but will not talk to you when he’s not around. You don’t have to worry about this kind of
workmate. The insidious cockroach will
not harm you. However, you should be
extra careful about what this one is up to because it might be something about
you or something for you. For example,
she might put a dead rat on your drawer once she knew you’re afraid of it. To be in good terms with the insidious
cockroach, know her interest and try to work with her. Sometimes, this kind of workmates just want
attention.
The smoking
piglets. They are less harmful than the
insidious cockroach. They perform well
at work provided that they do their own stuff simultaneously. They hate serious atmosphere and prefers to
break some company rules. They will not
care about you unless you initiated the first move.
The sloth cats. You’ll feel better when they argue. These kind of workmates do great jobs when
your boss is around. Somehow, they are a
combination of the two previous types.
You should watch out on them.
They tend to be lazy and easy-going.
They give more importance to themselves than anything else in the
workplace, except for salary.
The voiceless
birds. They are industrious and organized
but they prefer to work on their own.
They can anticipate what the first three are devising but they will not
speak about it. They just focus
themselves on the tasks assigned and work on it. They are sometimes impatient to disturbances.
As I've told
you, meet the blind snakes. The worst
kind of workmates are those backstabbers.
They may envy you or your position and will do everything to get into
you. They may be silent. They may be outspoken. Some may not even talk to you. Others may be with you all the time. What you don’t know, they spy on your working
style and find the right time to pull you down.
It’s hard to identify them unless you’re with the voiceless birds or the
happy dogs.

The happy
dogs. The happy dogs are the average
workmates. They are not too serious and
they break minor company rules too. They
do their work happily but they want to be recognized. They love it when they are the center of
attention. They have goodwill and know
how to deal with almost all types of people.
They care for their workmates as long as their own good will not be so
much sacrificed.
What kind of
workmate are you? Whatever it is,
remember that one of the most important quality of an employee is
reliability. Your boss should be able to
depend on your works and be certain that you could be trusted, even when the
boss is absent.
