What Causes Traffic?

You might think of an unfinished road, improper parking, flood, accident, or simply, a feast or event.

While on my way to Bulacan, I witnessed a possible accident.  It was near the bridge and the driver moved the jeepney from its parking lot to get some passengers and work on his last trip.  The jeepney was positioned almost across the street when an incoming motorcycle driver beeped signalling he wanted to pass the road first.  The motorcycle driver had his daughter with him.  Both the jeepney driver and the motorcycle driver thought one of them will stop but none of them did.  The jeepney continued moving across the street and the motorcycle heading on its side.  In the end, the man from the motorcycle hit the brake because if he didn’t, they would bump on the jeepney.  The man shouted: “Hoy! P*net aka!” The jeepney driver answered “Heh! Pumreno ka!”

Then I realized that traffic is mainly caused by haughtiness and selfishness, the desire to be the first one to pass.  If these traits are not present, an unfinished road will not be a problem because there will be organization.  No self-centred will park wherever he wants to.  There will be consideration for other vehicles.  Everyone will be participating in taking care of the nature, and there will be no flood.  Quick actions will be available when there are accidents and people on the festivals will give a way.
